Playback and visualization

Play back any recording in the browser, with every camera and signal on one timeline.

Before you train on data, you want to see it. EmbodiFlow plays every recording right in the browser, with nothing to install: all cameras stay in sync, the joint curves follow the playhead, and you can jump to any moment. For a deeper look, two open-source viewers built by the EmbodiFlow team are part of the product: LeRobot Studio for processed data and RosView for raw MCAP topics.

Where to open a recording

Open a recording from Recordings. Once it's ready, the green Open in Studio button at the top right opens the synced player. The ⋯ menu next to it has the two other viewers: Open in player opens LeRobot Studio on the processed recording, and Open raw data in player opens RosView on the original file. The same entries are in the ⋯ menu of each row in the recordings list.

A recording that failed processing still opens its raw files in the player, so you can see what went wrong. Episodes open in the same kind of synced workspace from the Episodes page; see Episodes and annotation.

Until anonymization has run, the raw files open only for the uploader, Owners, and members who both edit algorithms and manage workflows.

Studio: cameras and signals in sync

Studio puts every camera of the recording side by side at the top, with the timeline right under them. Below that, the action and observation state joint curves are drawn for the whole recording, and a line marks where the playhead is. Click anywhere on the timeline and every camera and curve jumps to that moment together.

The transport bar has loop, playback speed, frame-by-frame steps and play or pause, with the frame rate next to the time. Propose episodes at the top lets the AI suggest episode boundaries; they stay marked as AI-proposed and not reviewed until a person accepts them, and Back to recording returns to the recording page.

LeRobot Studio

LeRobot Studio plays the recording as the processed LeRobot v3 data your workflow produced, so what you see is exactly what you'll train on. The episodes are listed on the left. Each camera gets its own panel, and you can add or close panels with + and ×.

The Chart panel draws the action as dashed lines and the state as solid lines, so you can spot where the robot lagged behind its command. All Series picks which joints to show, and Split view separates them. The Raw Message panel shows the values of the current frame, each labelled with its joint name. Drag the scrubber and the cameras, the chart and the raw message all move together; the bar also shows the frame number, the frame rate and the LeRobot version.

RosView

RosView opens the original MCAP file exactly as the robot recorded it. It's the place to check whether a topic was recorded at the right rate, or to look at a signal the workflow doesn't carry into the processed data.

The Topics tab on the left lists every topic with its message type, its rate in Hz and its message count, and Filter topics narrows the list. Each Image panel shows a ROS image topic you pick from its dropdown. The Plot panel draws a joint topic such as io_teleop/joint_cmd, with Position, Velocity and Effort, and a list of curves you can search, show or hide one by one.

Along the bottom, Review annotations shows the recording's annotated segments on the same timeline as the playback. Labelling episodes happens in Studio; see Episodes and annotation.
